Biggest champion in bp claim game is ....
Ny (CNNMoney) -- Many organizations were hit rough by the BP Gulf of Mexico fuel spill last season bp claim. Contentedly, uncle sam is commencing to disperse few of the cash BP set aside to repay those who are suffering monetary difficulty.
In fact,, one business enterprise revealed this week which it has received almost $45 million from the Gulf Coastline Claims Facility, making it the biggest invoice until now.
Was it a shrimp motorboats captain in New Orleans? A coffee shop possessor in Destin on Florida's Gulf inshore? Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi? Nope.
How about a Houston-based supplier of Omega-3 fish-oil and fish food stuff commodities ? Bingo.
Omega Protein (OME), that fishes in my experience, an especially rich source of Omega-3, exposed Tuesday which it just gained a final payment of $26.2 mil from a fund overseen by Ken Feinberg. That is at the top of emergency payments of $7.3 mil and $11.4 mil last September and October.
For a corporation which reported over all sales of $168 mil last season, a $45 mil windfall is obviously a huge chunk of change. Omega has conceded as much.
In a statement this year's week, Omega chairman and Chief executive officer Joe von Rosenberg said which "we consider this an excellent fiscal result" and added which it's so which "our stockholders could be pretty pleased with."
